We Need Your Help!

Not-so-good news: The pandemic cancelled this year’s annual World of Food Festival. Not only does that mean we as a neighborhood have lost an incredible event that attracts people from all parts of the Lehigh Valley, we also lost our largest source of income for neighborhood improvements.

Good news: The West End Alliance is tapping our reserves to continue operation into 2021. The Alliance, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is a group of neighbors, business owners, and area institutions working together to make Allentown’s West End Theatre District a wonderful place to live and work.

But we need your help. This year we’re asking you directly for your help to support the progress in the West End Theatre District. If you love our neighborhood like we do, please make a gift to support all that the West End Alliance does—which is a lot!

  • Maintaining nearly 50 planters along 19th Street and adjacent streets
  • Publishing our West End Alliance magazine four times a year
  • Planting trees along our streets
  • Producing, mounting, and maintaining West End Theatre District banners
  • Installing roofline lighting and holiday lights in the neighborhood
  • Conducting neighborhood clean-up events
  • Organizing neighborhood events like the World of Food Festival and West End St. Patrick’s 5k
  • Maintaining our website, westendallentown.com
  • Keeping you updated and supporting merchants through social media and email
  • Representing the needs of the neighborhood to Allentown city leaders

Maybe you can donate $5. Maybe $20. Maybe $100 or more. We know times are tough for many people. Any amount is welcome. Because we are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, donations are deductible to the extent allowed by tax law.

Here’s another reason to give: Our friends at QNB on 19th and Allen will match 50 cents on the dollar for the first $4,000 that are donated during this campaign. (Thank you, QNB, for being a West End Alliance partner!)

Click on the donate button at the bottom of the page or www.westendallentown.com/donate to contribute. We will list all donors in the next issue of West End Living.

We thank you. And all of your neighbors thank you, too.
